Contact form

I do not store contact information from form submissions in a site contact database or mailing list. The form sends the name, email address, and message you enter to Web3Forms for delivery as a contact message. Processing and email delivery are separate from maintaining a contact database.

Do not include passwords, confidential client information, or other sensitive material in the form. See Web3Forms’ privacy policy for its handling of submissions. If you prefer, use the email link in the footer; that uses your email provider instead of the form.

Web3Forms’ published policy states that it can retain submission data for up to three years, unless a shorter period applies to the plan or the data is deleted earlier. Not maintaining a contact database on this site does not mean the delivery provider retains nothing.

Preferences in your browser

The site uses browser storage to remember choices such as theme, content filters, and whether you have seen the welcome prompt. These settings can remain until you clear this site’s browser data. Rupert also keeps recent messages, a draft question, and interface state in session storage so a conversation can continue as you navigate.

Clearing browser storage removes those local preferences and conversation state. It does not erase information already submitted to the contact form or assistant services.

Site analytics and hosting

The site loads a self-hosted Plausible analytics script to understand page visits and outbound-link use. Requests to the site, analytics service, and other service providers necessarily involve network information such as an IP address and browser request details. Hosting and service providers may process operational information to deliver and protect their services.

Rupert conversations

When you send a question, the site sends your message, selected audience, and recent conversation context to its assistant endpoint. Depending on the active configuration, answers can use Ryan-operated retrieval services or an external AI service such as Google Gemini. Do not submit secrets or confidential information.

When assistant usage logging is enabled, the site records a shortened question, a shortened answer, source links, timing and provider information, and a hashed IP identifier for service review. Automated redaction attempts to remove some emails, phone numbers, and secret-like strings, but it is not a guarantee that personal information is removed.

The application configures these daily interaction logs to expire approximately 45 days after the log’s last update. Usage-limit counters have separate daily or monthly reset periods. These settings do not describe the retention policies of AI providers, hosting providers, email systems, or backups.

A hash is not a guarantee of anonymity. Closing the chat or clearing its browser session does not delete server-side records. For questions about a conversation or the current provider configuration, contact me without resending sensitive content.

Questions and requests

Use the contact page or the email address in the footer for privacy questions or requests concerning information you submitted. Include enough context to identify the request, but avoid sending additional sensitive information. Linked external websites operate under their own privacy practices.
